A mother-daughter duo were arrested on Wednesday, April 3 in Cypress, Texas, during a tag-team undercover sting operation for allegedly giving illegal butt injections.
Consuelo Maria Dal Bo, 56, and her daughter Isabella Dal Bo, 18, went to a private residence to inject “an unlabeled brown liquid into the posterior of a customer” while offering the customer a Xanax to relax prior to the injections, according to a motion for sufficient bail written by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office regarding Consuelo’s case that was obtained by NBC affiliate KPRC.
The operation was a collaborative effort among Houston Police Department’s Major Offenders Division as well as Food and Drug Administration and Homeland Security Investigation agents.
The duo allegedly charged $6,000 in cash for the procedure, which is on par for the average cost of butt enhancement surgery, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Many celebrities such as the Kardashians in recent years have been suspected of getting cosmetic butt enhancements such as Brazilian butt lifts (BBLs), which are notoriously the deadliest invasive plastic surgery, with its mortality rate estimated to be high as 1:3,000 as of 2018, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Cardi B admitted to GQ in 2018 that she had illegal filler injected into her buttocks in a basement in Queens for $800.
“They don’t numb your a** with anything,” she said. “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days.”
She added: “By the time I was gonna go get it, the lady got locked up ’cause she’s supposedly killed somebody. Well somebody died on her table.”
However, others, as Cardi B noted, have not been as lucky, including reality tv star Jacky Oh, 32, who died last summer while undergoing a BBL surgery.

The Houston Police Department confirmed that both Consuelo Maria and Isabella were arrested and charged with a misdemeanor of practicing medicine without a license.
Consuelo is also facing a felony charge of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance under 28 grams, according to court documents.
“The defendant was not even sure what was in the bottles, and this fundamentally demonstrates how remarkably dangerous these acts were,” the court docs said. “The defendants do not have license to perform this kind of activity.”
Consuelo also allegedly “provided a Xanax to the prospective customer” to help them relax prior to the injections, the court docs state.
“They apparently arranged to have a house available because she only does house calls,” said Harris County Assistant D.A. Sheila Hansel. “Her suitcases were full of what she uses in these procedures and displayed them and was ready to use them on the undercover officer.”
She added: “This defendant has no license, no certificate, no permit to do any procedure even remotely close to injecting these unknown substances into people.”
The duo are also being accused of traveling across the country to provide these injections, according to NBC News, noting that Consuelo Maria had just flown back from seeing a client in California when she was arrested.
In response to the allegations, Consuelo told KHOU 11 that she isn’t a licensed doctor in the US, however, she claims she went to medical school in Mexico for three years.
“Believe me, everything I do, I do it with my heart, and everybody who knows me, they know me,” she told the outlet during an April 5 court appearance. “I do it because they really need it, and not just because they pay me.”
Her lawyer said in a statement to E! News: “Ms. Dal Bo is maintaining her innocence. We look forward to future proceedings and the opportunity to fight her case.”
Isabella’s attorney added, “We plan on vigorously challenging the allegations in court.”
The duo have since been released on bond, with court records showing Consuelo’s was set at $10,000 and Isabella’s was set at $5,000.
They were set to go back to court today, April 10, however, officials have not immediately responded to requests for information and seemingly no local news outlets have provided updates at press time.
Prosecutors have shared that the case was part of a larger investigation into folks bringing illegal substances into the US.
Since then, prosecutors said four women from Harris County have come forward claiming they sought out and received their services.
“My biggest concern is for the people who don’t do their research before hiring someone like her, or paying someone like her, to put a chemical that they don’t know what is inside of them,” Hansel said. “We’ll figure out what it is, and if it was dangerous, but regardless of what it is, it’s not approved for injection into anyone’s buttocks.”
Prosecutors said the FDA is currently testing the substances. Depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation, Consuelo Maria’s charges could be bumped up.
Former customers have since come forward, sharing their cautionary tale, which they’ve described as a “nightmare” ordeal.
Two women who claim to be former clients said, in a confession to ABC13, that Consuelo Maria has been injecting people for over a decade.
In 2022, one revealed she went to the Dal Bo’s Conroe home to get her backside enhanced.
She continued to explain that a room in the home was set up for the procedure, where Dal Bo injected liquid into her body from big brown bottles.
However, she came to regret it six months later due to complications.
“The side of my butt would get really, really red and sore to the touch,” she said. “I’m pretty sure it was infected. Right now, it feels like marbles all over my butt.”
She said Dal Bo also injected her lips, pointing out three ball masses under her skin.
The 32-year-old mother, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “She showed me pictures and said she travels to do strippers and lawyers.”
Another woman told ABC13 that she has been suffering for nearly 15 years since getting the procedure, sharing photo evidence.
In 2010, she says she got calf injections from Consuelo Maria, which have been subject to constant infections that have caused severe swelling and pain. She called the whole ordeal a “nightmare.”
Both clients warned prospective customers of getting the procedure done illegally from unlicensed practitioners after their experiences.
